Palworld Sakurajima Update Release Date

Update Available June 27, 2024

During the Summer Game Fest live stream, the trailer for the Sakurajima Update for Palworld was shown along with its release date of June 27, 2024.

The Sakurajima Update is the long awaited Summer 2024 Update, featuring a new island, new Pals, and lots of new features!

The Sakurajima Update Trailer was initially revealed during the Summer Game Fest 2024 Livestream, where they showcased the new Pals, features, and PVP!

New Pals in Sakurajima Update

Armadillo Pal

A new Armadillo Pal was shown alongside the previously shown Pheasant and Fox Pals. This Pal is likely to be a Ground-type based on its design, and is something we will likely commonly see in Sakurajima.

Guardian Dog Pal

A new Rideable Pal based on a Guardian Dog was also shown by the Shrine Entrance and mounted by the player in the trailer.

Ghost Pal

A new Ghost Pal was also shown in a graveyard-like biome, along with a Bushi subspecies.

The Ghost Pal and Bushi's subspecies have flame designs, possibly hinting at their nocturnal behavior.

Dark Pal

A new Dark Pal was also shown going on a rampage in what appears to be the Desert Biome.

Interestingly enough, this Pal is the only new Pal shown outside of Sakurajima, which could hint at its location being in the Desert, or other previous locations.

Mimic Pal

A Mimic Pal that imitates Chests was also shown.

Following the nature of Mimics, this Pal may take on the appearance of normal chests, and attack the player once they try to open it.

Knight Pal

A Knight Pal was also revealed, at what appears to be the Boss Room of a Dungeon.

This Pal may be a Dungeon-exclusive Pal, similar to the other Dungeon Exclusives previously obtainable.

Boss Pal

A new Tower Boss was also shown in the video, with a Pal that seems to have a Lunar design.

Previously, all Tower Boss Pals can be caught from Sanctuaries, so this new Pal may also be added to existing wildlife sanctuaries.

New Subspecies in Palworld Sakurajima Update

Chillet Ignis

A Fire-type Chillet was also shown in the trailer, hinting at new Pal Subspecies alongside the Sakurajima Pals.

Katress and Wixen Subspecies

A new Katress and Wixen were also shown in the trailer several times.

The Katress and Wixen subspecies seem to have their default types interchanged, which means we will likely get a Katress Ignis and Wixen Noct.

Bushi Noct

A Bushi subspecies was also shown in the graveyard alongside the new Ghost Pal.

All Ghost-themed Pals previously introduced share a Dark-typing, so it is not farfetched to think that this will be a Bushi Noct variant.

PVP Coming in Palworld Sakurajima Update!

We also get to see a glimpse of the PVP Feature during the trailer, which means it will be arriving alongside the Sakurajima Update.

The PVP feature is consistent with the previous teaser, showcasing 4v4 Battles, with three Pals present during the battle.

Palworld PVP Arena Release Date

New Sakurajima Tower Boss

A new Tower Boss was also shown during the trailer, which is likely the designated Tower Boss for the Sakurajima area.

New Sakurajima Raid Boss

Blazamut also enters the stage as a new Post-Game Raid Boss.

The Blazamut Subspecies in the video was summoned using a Summoning Altar, which means we will likely need to collect Slab Fragments to challenge it.

New Weapons and Armor in Sakurajima Update

Alongside the new weapons that were previously teased, a new Armor Set was also shown equipped by the Players in the Trailer.

Sulfur and Coal Mines Added to Bases in Palworld Update!

New Sulfur and Coal mines were also shown in the trailer, allowing players to harvest these resources regardless of where their base is located.

Sakurajima Update Oil Rig

A new sub-location was also shown, which is an Offshore Oil Rig.

This Stronghold may function similarly to Wildlife Sanctuaries, offering exclusive Loot and Pals!

Palworld Increased Level Cap

While it was not discussed in depth, a new Level Cap will be implemented alongside the Sakurajima Update, which means there will be more Technology to learn, and more stats to allocate.

Palworld XBOX Dedicated Server

A Dedicated Server for XBOX Players was also announced in the trailer, making it easier for larger groups of players to play on XBOX, and enjoy guilds!
