This position is for a very reputable organization that offers above market benefits.
We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join a progressive and dynamic team in the Melbourne area. The selected candidate will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of our client's operations. You will delve into both financial and operational metrics to bolster the company's strategic objectives. The role demands a proactive approach to managing financial key performance indicators, conducting in-depth analyses of fiscal data, and supporting the production of management reports on a monthly basis.
Key Duties:
Conduct detailed evaluations of monthly financial outcomes and provide strategic insights and recommendations to the executive leadership to drive financial performance.
Participate in the creation of routine financial statements each month.
Contribute to the annual and consolidated budgeting processes, with ongoing responsibilities for periodic forecasting updates.
Manage monthly account reconciliations and analyses, addressing any discrepancies identified.
Oversee month-end closing procedures, including the supervision of journal entries and reviews.
Handle the management of fixed assets and oversee budget allocations for capital projects across various facilities.
Develop and implement dashboards to enhance the monitoring of key performance indicators, utilizing management tools to boost operational efficiencies and promote organizational growth.
Perform additional duties as needed to support the financial department.
Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
At least five years of professional experience in accounting roles.
Demonstrated proficiency in SAP or a similar ERP software suite.
Comprehensive understanding of financial and cost accounting principles.
Strong grasp of generally accepted accounting principles.
Excellent communication abilities, both written and spoken.
