Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (2024)

There are currently 27 announced fighters in MultiVersus, each of them with their own specialty perks and unique fighting style. With all these fighters, it is hard to determine which one might be the best when looking at the fighter's page. However, some fighters stand out above the rest.

With the full launch of MultiVersus, several more characters were added to the game. The newest character is now Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th, with Agent Smith announced at the same time. Often, the game gives you the chance to try fighters you have not yet unlocked so if there’s one ranked high on the list, keep checking the roster every week to see if you can try it out.

MultiVersus is back with its full game launch, with many technical changes and updates that could help give it an edge against the competition.

27 Agent Smith

The Matrix

The most recently announced character as seen in this trailer from MultiVersus, you can currently unlock Agent Smith for free in MultiVersus by completing Rifts. However, as there is no information on his perks or special abilities yet, he is currently at the bottom of the list in a more unranked fashion.

There is no release date for Agent Smith confirmed yet.

26 Marvin the Martian

Looney Tunes

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (2)

Marvin is not one of the strongest characters in MultiVersus, but he has his own advantages. He is one of the few ranged Assassin fighters, and he can attack from multiple directions. However, he is slower than many similar fighters, and he tends to have long cooldowns which keeps him from being a top-tier character.

Class

Assassin

Signature Perks

K-62 Modulator Mark V; Space Invader; Y-59 Heat-Seekers

Special Moves

To Me, My Glorious Ship!; ...In The Name Of Mars!

Signature Perks are available to unlock as you level up your account and your specific fighter. Once unlocked you can choose to equip them or choose a Generalist perk.

25 Rick Sanchez

Rick and Morty

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (3)

Rick is more of a ranged combatant and is not very strong at close-range. He has a blaster and traps that can hurt enemies from afar, as well as a portal system that can allow you to move and allow you to damage enemies through the portal. Overall, this makes him better as a support character but he can cause a lot of chaos in any fight.

Signature Perks

Bit Of A Stickler Meeseeks; Hephaestus, Who?; Squanchin’ Pyrotechnics

Special Moves

Meeseek And Destroy; Goin' Even Higher!

24 Superman

Superman is great at avoiding damage he does not want to take. His passive allows him to dodge away from the ground, making it easy to sleep out of reach. However, he also can armor himself up a lot, as well as slow down enemies. However, he can be quite slow himself, which is his main weakness in the game. RPG Labs breaks down his full combos in the YouTube video above.

Multiverse contains several different in-game currencies. Prestige Points are a major currency that can help players acquire exclusive items.

23 Gizmo

Gremlims

Gizmo can deal a large amount of damage when the timing works out, but you also need a fair amount of practice to perfect him. He can be very unpredictable and can combo with allies to get into the air, but his special Popcorn Clouds do nothing if you haven’t lined everything up. This can be devastating if an enemy hits you at the wrong time.

Class

Mage/Ranged

Signature Perks

Bounce, Bounce, Boom!, Power Cuddle, Rhythm’s Gonna Getcha

Special Moves

Song of the Mogwai; Gizmo-A-Go-Go

Velma is very much a Support Fighter, as she can target enemies, heal allies, and hitting enemies with everything from flashlights to speech bubbles to the Mystery Machine. However, many of her attacks take a long time to charge or have a long cooldown, hampering her ability to be a more aggressive fighter.

Class

Mage/Ranged

Signature Perks

Knowledge Is Power, Studied

Special Moves

Fast Thinker, Shutterbug

21 Banana Guard

Adventure Time

Banana Guard is a great option for beginners in MultiVersus, having no passive abilities and a lot of combo potential. He is also able to buff himself and do a lot of knockback damage. However, he can be more vulnerable than characters with a faster cooldown and his charge-up can make him more vulnerable. See YouTuber Onestep’s video for a full breakdown.

Class

Bruiser

Signature Perks

The Iron Temple, Icy Tears

Special Moves

Banana Split; CHAAARGE!

20 Stripe

Gremlims

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (7)

Stripe in MultiVersus is one of the more aggressive fighters in the game. You will not be able to hold back while playing as him. You will want to constantly be throwing attacks your opponents way. He also has a Neutral Attack that is able to target opponents clinging to a side wall. Stripe’s main downside is that, if he runs out of gas, a larger opponent can ring him out easier, due to his size.

Special Moves

Sharpshooter; Dynamite Duo

Taz in another beginner-friendly character that can deal lots of damage between his tornado-like move, his Dogpile! Dogpile! Move, and his Bottomless Pit special. Class

I Gotta Get In There!; Iron Stomach

Special Moves

Taz-nado; Dogpile! Dogpile!

18 Reindog

MultiVersus

Reindog is a fairly easy fighter to get a handle on. YouTuber RPG Labs has a good breakdown of all of his moves, but the Power Crystal is going to be your main source of buffs. His Air Side Special is also quite helpful.

He has range as well with his projectiles but his ability to KO is lower than most fighters.

Class

Mage/Ranged

Signature Perks

Crystal Pal, Fire Fluff

Special Moves

Love Leash, Dude!; Power Crystal

17 Morty Smith

Rick and Morty

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (10)

Morty is one of the more complicated characters in the game, so he can be a challenge for new players to master. However, his grenades and his neutral attack work very well together, and his special can save his allies from certain death. His main weakness is that a lot of his best moves have long cooldowns and getting the timing wrong could make him very vulnerable.

Class

Bruiser

Signature Perks

Extra Fleeb Juice, I’m More Than Just A Hammer, Oh That’s Still A Grenade

Special Moves

Uh, Auto-Pilot?; It's A Grenade, I Think

16 Batman

DC

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (11)

Batman has a varied kit that allows him to mix it up and most of it can apply Weakened to his opponents. Class

Bouncerang, Precision Grapple

Special Moves

MultiVersus features fan-favorite characters from a myriad of different media, and many House of the Dragon characters would make a great addition.

15 Jake The Dog

Adventure Time

Jake has a lot of versatility as well, and he also comes with a lot of range as his punches grow with his charge-up. However, he is fairly lightweight and if he misses a move it can be punishing. When they do land with the right timing, he can keep them in the air and knock them out of the stage.

Class

Special Moves

Rubber Stomach; Dude!, Stretchin' Out

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (13)

Class

Signature Perks

Betrayal, Trophy

Special Moves

Face-Stealer; Dagger Slash

13 Iron Giant

The Iron Giant

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (14)

Iron Giant is a large character who can take attacks for his allies and mitigates a lot of the damage done to himself. He can give himself temporary armor as well. He can recover easily with the ability to fly, and he can have a strong ranged game with his special, Rage.

He does have a large hitbox and he is slow, but he is also the heaviest character meaning he’s harder to ring out.

Class

Tank

Signature Perks

Afterburners, Static Discharge, Wrong Side Of The Bed

Special Moves

Cannonball!; Rocket Boost!

12 Garnet

Steven Universe

Garnet can hit and hit hard, but she is sometimes hard to control, particularly for newer players. However, when mastered, she can unleash combos of punches and hard-hitting dives. YouTuber JimmiePitts has a great guide showing how to hit them right.

11 Black Adam

DC

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (16)

Black Adam in MultiVersus has the advantage of a versatile combat range. He has excellent stage control because of this and he can put Shocked on his opponents. He also has a strong Air game, but while his moves are powerful they do not have a lot of knockback. He is also challenging for beginners to master, making him a little less appealing than other options.

Special Moves

Aton's Havoc; Might of Kahndaq

10 Tom & Jerry

Tom & Jerry

This duo works together and against each other to cause chaos in MultiVersus. While fighting each other, they can also combo enemies from across the stage. They have a strong ability to perform KOs, and they passively can buff their damage. They will take some time to get used too, but they can be a very potent team. See how to play them in YouTuber Lilsun's video.

Space Jam

Every Character In MultiVersus, Ranked Tier List (17)

The translation of basketball player to basketball fighter in MultiVersus was very well done, and LeBron has some very fun moves that he can make with his projectile. He is very good at edge guarding, and he wants to have his basketball as often as he can. He has very few weaknesses, and if he doesn’t have his ball he can brawl with the best of them at close range.
